This is what happens every time something way better than average arrives - in the past it has been Heat Vision (when Solar Amplifier was released), Omega Totality, Water in it's entirety, Nemesis Lasso, The Strategist Card, etc. etc.

It will pass, but only because something newer, and more OP will come along to unseat it.

In my opinion, Power Array Augments are a mistake (or at least the set of Powers that are selected for each one are).

Newer Artifacts do too much, meaning that players are almost required to get them to keep up... until the next artifact gives +100% of all stats and makes you god for the instance.

Artifacts imo should just be a tool to change a playstyle and not something to just add more power to someone for little payoff.

Eog is all about consolidating damage and giving supercharge. Role Dependent which is a GOOD thing. Means regardless of who you are, you can use it.
Strategist is all about crits and giving more based on your crits. Can be used by ANYONE for more of what they are good at.
Claw gives buffs at the cost of power group heal.
BoP allows you to use all debuffs in one, allowing for more skills to be used on other aspects of the game, like shields, stunning, etc.

...Nowadays artifacts are just "Free damage" and "Free self buffs" like pages and razer. i mean hell. Razer doesn't even require input while in battle. It just explodes and deals 5 HUGE ticks of damage that wipes bosses hp like its nothing in some cases.

Also... We now have iconics that are artifact level too. Exobyte steal is a huge buff and damage powerhouse. Magma Vortex too. Nemesis Lasso, Sunstone Dust Blast is another one...

DPS meta is just whack. No other power really matters any more if you have the iconics, artifacts and augments.

Just give us Power Trees back and like 50 power points but let us choose whatever power we want. Would be so much better than power augment arrays etc. just add more powers to the trees every so often

The power creep has been cranked up to 11 and the build homogenization via iconics, power arrays and overpowered artifacts is the main reason. A 2nd power tray was also a big factor. I had already mostly lost interest in DPSing a couple years back but the power creep extended out to support roles as well. Tanks are all but invincible now. Trolls are back to being batteries since buffing is not only redundant but also paltry compared to DPS's self buffs, and healing has really been braindead easy since purple healing ray and page of destiny.

This is why I retired.

When you see 3-4 out of 5 of the DPS in a raid are all the same spamming aquatic arsenal non-stop. Do you think that's a good thing?,

Frankly. It screams lazy to me.
It's sad, really. They care about top damage. Brag how good they are and die easily.

They are using a controller and healer powesets but want someone else to go heal and troll
Lazy.

they only time they do tank, is battle to solo elite alerts and bounties.
they still depend on tank and 200 arts
And I still DPS role and gear.

you see dps players die alot here? from this guy... I dont

you see dps player die alot here? i dont

dps player only tanks to solo bounties, i dont

Less than 400 sp.
Less than level 100 arts.

Sure, having lots of damage is addicting. But it's not gonna help survive of its that all they care about. It is being lazy.

Rotfl... Are you seriously bragging, that it takes you 25 min to solo a bounty? I'm pretty sure Arkillo died of old age.
Exactly. That's why I said survive over high damage.
Less than 400 sp, less than level 100 arts. It's lower damage and survival.
My bragging to their bragging of high damage and still die alot.

And old age, that explains it! Oh wait, you're not old age on the forums are you? It's been what, over 10 years of us on the forums?

Well lot of us will die of old age on the game and forums and still complain about the game.

Because that's what every group wants - DPS, who does no damage, only runs away for half an hour. Lol...

"Us"? Who's "us"? It seems that you've only joined the forums in July this year. You must be a new player - that explains your "performance" in those videos and why you're jealous of all those players, who actually do damage. Don't worry, one day, after you've played for a while you might learn how to DPS.

Jealous is not even the word for it. I still can't make it to 500 sp. Still can't make 1 artifact to 160.
You can call me "the try hard" since 2013.

25min is a long time. As much as I hate being able to solo a bounty as a dps…especially when we aren’t supposed too, but that’s a different topic. Usually my henchmen come off cooldown once or twice depending on who I’m fighting.
Sometimes I need to slow the fight down (31st bounty) to get the crystals.

Mogo I skip as I’m sick of the endless stuns. Those bounties can go die in a hole for all I care.

I got blasted in SSE as a healer bc people weren’t blocking on Black Manta’s skull.
I think that’s the other way around. But also when ppl don’t do the bombs or just block in general is when wipes occur.

Years ago there was a self entitled atomic tank who complained about dying on a skull when all they had to do was ‘block’, even the devs explained the mechanics and if you don’t block, you die.

It’s because that’s the case, DCUO’s Devs/stdoo don’t want to work anymore, they’re making sure everyone is the same, that way they’ll have more balancing work to do, and that’s why DCUO has become so depressing today with what they’ve done now, making the game more and more insipid...

its an example that healers are not the blame when dps dies alot. DPS can be addicted to putting everything into high damage doesn't make them skilled and healers can't heal lazy and wreckless players. If I had 200 arts and 800+sp, then yeah it would like more 5-10 mins and not 25.
players solo raids and bounties in 5 mins but they have to kite a lot. They die alot until they finally survive 5-10 mins of it for youtube.

for the stuns, its a pain, for tank and controller power sets, use the breakout ability and rotate it with breakout trinket.
Example: Ice
Shattered Restraints: breakout, Immunity for 6 seconds, 18 seconds cooldown
Breakout Trinket: breakout, immunity for 6 seconds, 45 seconds cooldown
and also PvP Debuff Serum: breakout, immunity for 8 seconds, 60 seconds cooldown
gives you 3x rotation for stuns immunity
