On Switch, and twice now quing up the Homecoming alert in public mode it pops instantly, but when I load in it's just me

I have just experienced this on the PS4; solo queue Homecoming. I didn't mind it, as it felt like an extended version of the daily Stabilizer Solo.

Its because whatever you did private last it transferred over to the event q up so you have to switch it back in the the slot where it shows public and private above it in the custom q ups not the main page where everything is infront of you. Hopefully this info helps all those that also have this issue.

The new UI for private queues is awful. I don't know what was wrong with the previous one, but - whatever it was - it was infinitely better than this buggy nonsense. I just logged in on one of my toons, that ran some private instances yesterday and now literally everything in the Custom Queue is by default set to "Private". This is ridiculous. How about fixing things that are broken, instead of messing with those, that have been working fine until now?

Thank you for confirming. To add: The custom menu does not allow you to change it back to default (Public) after a few (about 3) private runs.
When I did my first private run, the menu still offered the toggle between public and private. I did not switch it back before I logged off because I assumed the menu would go back to public, which is the default setting. The second and third time was similar to the first time, so I didn't think anything was wrong. I ran the private sessions on different days, not back to back days. The main On duty menu was working as intended as well. However, when I ran the fourth private session I noticed that the public and private buttons were not there. Afterword, I ran the Homecoming Event mission from the On duty menu; I queued in alone.
NOTE: when you queue up the Homecoming mission or any other mission outside of the On duty menu, they work as intended.
I am in the USA East Coast on the PS4.

Yeah its a mess. I was private Qing for duos. No issue switching it to private then running. Then when I went to Q for raids, there's no option for private or public. So I went to duos, switched it there, but it still would put me into a private match for raids. I had to switch duos to public, run a duo with another person, then it kept it public for the other types of content.

At least you get to switch the duos; I can't switch anything from the custom menu from private to public. It's not a total loss, though; I can do the Homecoming mission alone.
Quick Note About the Private Matches UI Update in GU172:
With the new Custom On-Duty menu UI Changes, Private Match remains selected after you complete a Private Match. To avoid unintentionally queuing for another Private Match, you will need to manually deselect the option before joining a new queue.
This issue will be addressed in a future hotfix.
