It's not intended for players to only run this content. And I doubt it's for EG players looking to max out a sixth or seventh artifact so they can Wolfpack it. It's obviously intended (1) to give newer players a little extra help catching up to the rest of us, and (2) to be something to do instead of being bored, maybe while waiting for queues to pop or waiting for a group, so players don't just log off.
If the reward was bigger, as another poster pointed out in another thread, then veteran players would be complaining that it's FOMO to force us to stay logged in longer. As it is now, it feels optional for those of us who've been playing for awhile, but the reward isn't just an insult, like say 1 white or green Nth metal, or 30 ally favor.
If it was more, I certainly wouldn't complain. And I am one of the vets who has nothing but 200 arts, most of them (except for my troll arts and 1 heal art) is wolfpacked, and I have a crap load of saved Nth metal. I mean I could coast for the next couple of years or more at the current rate and still not have to grind or pay for more arts. HOWEVER, there are some that aren't in the same position that don't have a bank toon who's bank and 3/4 of the inventory is completely filled with XP, those people should have more given for the time spent doing the event. I mean look at it this way, you have the daily events for 5 acts of heroism/villainy for your OP piece XP multiply that by X number of toons, then you add this daily event (1 toon, but still), then omnibus stuff for your OP XP multiplied by X toons. OH, and then don't forget whatever throwback event they do where you have to go back to a DLC and rerun crap you're already tired of). And thats before you get to the actual episode content.
And that poster you talk about it being FOMO, My counter to that point would be, lets say they make it 4K art XP for it, ok, big f***ing deal, you miss a few days of XP, its just art XP. Its not like its a limited time art or a limited time augment or limited time ally which leveled up will definitely impact your gameplay more then a few K in art XP.
A yr or 2 ago, a friend of mine were talking and he said just you wait, they'll have new events every week and more and more each event will be limited time and tied directly to progression rather then actual original content DLCs, and these events will have OP limited time stuff. I mean I knew he was run, but still. And now look where we are. I mean that red tornado daily event is procedurally generated bull***t. I have to spend 10 mins rerunning crap I've already spent 100s of hrs running for a mediocre amount of art XP? Yeah, F that.
