Seasonal Freeloaders

Is there something that can be done to get rid of the freeloaders that queue up for the seasonal event? I played the event 11 times today and had a barcode or a random letter character in 10 of them. I admit i did the event later in the evening but still it was beyond annoying. The seasonal takes maybe a minute or two to complete but for some reason those people think that is too much time for them. If you don't participate, you shouldn't get any reward.

I get that this is has been happening forever but just because it has been happening forever doesn't mean it should be allowed to continue. We should be allowed to kick them from the group which I tried a few times but it kept telling me to wait and I couldn't kick them while in combat, so unfortunately they got a rewarded for not helping whatsoever.

In short, not unless the devs want to make some changes to how loot credit works or kicking works. As it stands, it's so bad because a) people were griefing by kicking people right before a boss died so they wouldn't get credit, so no kicking while in combat, and b) people grief kicking right at the beginning of a raid, so there's a 5 minute delay before any kicking can be done whatsoever.

Because of those 2 limitations, there is absolutely nothing you can do about leeches unless you want to wait 5+ minutes, but most leeches will likely trigger the boss fight themselves at 4:30 if the instance isn't already done or even started by that point.

What's even more annoying is the fact that they're making it so obvious the second you join the instance and you see someone with a name like llllllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII and a default looking style you know you have at least 1 member less in the group.
They're always a combination of uppercase i, lowercase L and 1, i even think they ran out of combinations and started adding spaces in the names, had someone like 1 llllllllllIIIIIIIIIIIllll last night.

I was in a group that had a barcode and by coincidence we all decided to wait at the starting point because of that player. We sent tells explaining what was happening and after 5 mins we voted to kick them but they decided to leave before they were voted out.

I don't care how long it takes even if I have to run it later lol but I refuse absolutely REFUSE to carry them . I will leave the instance the moment I see funny activity but I will also add them on ignore.

Who The hell do they think they are ? TF😡 as I said many times before you can use your fingers to que up quick enough but yet can't EVEN bother 🙄 to help the group beat a boss that isn't even good to take 5mins 🤔🙄😏. It's beyond pathetic and the do it because there are some people who don't care and will just push right through defeat the boss and get loot and then they get loot.

I one time tested it a long while ago and the Leech the lazy F stayed at the entrance and after we got loot they left lol smh . So unless the devs strongly look at this it will continue and as I said before some players don't care and just push on forward which also enables this disgusting behavior.

In the last springtime seasonal, we had someone who didn't want to participate, so I explained to them "Let's all wait until this free loader decides to help." Eventually the 2 players left. Funny thing is, the free loader then started to run the mechanics and finish off swamp thing. But really , the best way to deal with people who don't want to participate is just leave the alert completely. Many times you'll see , they'll just sit there at the starting point and do nothing. Might as well just find a group that will run it properly.

  1. If it bothers you that much, private queue the seasonal alert
  2. There is a bug now that scene skipping has been added that locks players from doing anything except close the game. I've literally been frozen at the beginning, unable to move, text, talk, until combat was finished.
This happened to me yesterday. Not a thing I could do about it. I thought my keyboard had died. :(

Then I saw that there was a second player who apparently had the same problem. Fortunately the remaining two players were able to give Ocean Master a severe kicking and complete the instance.

It's happened to a couple of friends of mine. Granted, they have actual names and not the barcodes/randomized stuff some AFKers have, but certainly EVERYone stuck there isn't trying to freeload.

You know what's funny? Those toons are real toons with decent styles, which means they were either made only to run the seasonal, or the player pays to change their toon's name every seasonal just to try to get away with that.

This seasonal, I've taken to not moving from the entrance until I see at least two other players move. Just because I can solo the seasonal doesn't mean I want to.

I mean, it's bad enough that even with all four of us fighting, my weakest alts (as in, double-digit CR) still sometimes wind up getting "Most Boss Damage Done". That just makes me laugh and say "That's weird." But if I wanted to actually do it all by myself, I wouldn't bother queuing for a group.

I know that it has happened to a few people I have grouped with and one person felt bad enough that they messaged the group and explained that they got stuck at beginning and that is why they didn't help. I am not saying everyone who doesn't participate is afking but it is pretty obvious when you have barcodes and random letter heroes that they are not there to help.

I inspected a barcode during an alert and they had levelled up artifacts that weren't wolfpack artifacts and levelled up allies and was even using the shaded comic material but for some reason this seasonal alert that takes 2 min was too much work for them.

Seriously. I just ran three low-level toons through the alert in about six minutes. And that's including the time to sign out, sign back in, and queue up the alert, in between each run. And two of those runs had those barcode freeloaders.

Oddly enough, most of the idlers/AFKers I see don't have those names, but if their key input limit is squashing speed hacking during combat, I'm bet those are all just repurposed former hacking characters now just used for afk farming, and probably macro farming stuff in the open world id guess.

At least adding them to friends list makes the font easily readable, and if you're on PC, you can use log output too.

People keep whining about freeloaders but gleefully scene skip and break the instance so people can't move and/or crash the game. Took me three tries to get in, first two I crashed while loading, thanks skippers.

I've had problems during skipping only twice. The first time was when I was having connection problems, and I wound up disconnecting. I also wound up disconnecting during the boss fight, multiple times on two different toons. But that was all on my end, as I kept losing my internet connection.

The other time, yes, I froze when the leader skipped. I also hadn't finished loading into the instance when the group activated the first cinematic. When the dialogue finished, I was able to move normally.

I can confirm that this issue occurs. The character becomes stuck and is unable to move or use chat to notify anyone. By the time chat is possible again, the alert has already ended.
