Spindrift Station, bomb 1st booss, how can it still be so bad?

I don’t understand how it can still be so bad, we barely have time to reach the bombs, even worse, either it’s a bug or there are some that are wrong, the timer doesn’t even allow time to go on another one, but there is an EXTREMELY ANNOYING thing about this kind of stress. DCUO IS TOO DESIGNED FOR SUPER-SPEED and it’s extremely painful and discriminatory; it’s high time that this dev mentality evolves.

People on DCUO are already not very smart when it comes to executing a mechanic, but such gameplay discrimination makes things even worse.

Another problem encountered. There is the indication to activate the bomb, but no action occurs and if I press the button, and yes, I am 1000% sure to press the correct one, by the way, this is not the first time this has happened. He sometimes seems to have a problem recognizing the action.

I have boycotted queuing into SS this episode. Between people not doing the bombs right, or the air tanks on the 2nd 'boss', sorry...I don't need that frustration in my life. If I see a 'need X for last boss SSx' I'd jump in, but built groups or nothing for a full run.

I get what you’re saying and agree it’s annoying when you get a bugged bomb. It happens but there is enough time for everyone to get at least 1 bomb. I pug it every week on 8 toons…healers, controllers and tanks…I don’t bother dosing; there’s more than enough of those in this game. It’s simple ppl either get the bombs or we don’t advance. Usually only takes 1 wipe for everyone to get with the program.

As far as the pipes. I educate each group that hasn’t been in the instance before so that more groups will succeed in the future. I actually prefer SS raid because it has mechanics.

I queue all my alt characters in the regular version. It’s not that difficult, and it can be done without using a tank character. I wouldn’t try the elite version though – it requires more effort and coordination.

In the 2nd room, I've noticed a lot of players start to panic when they see a headline at the top of screen and windows cracking animation. Those are not indications of anything, it's just part of the storyline. They follow up by using up all the oxygen tanks and wiping the room.

I've been in a random group where only 1 player chose to dive. They completed the left side, then proceeds over to right to begin the puzzle. This is just to say that the time limit is tied to the oxygen tanks.

Tips for the divers: In the beginning, spin the cogs 3x each to get a head start.

Hmmmm, 'Educate'. Seeing as these are the same people who couldn't understand 'block on skull' during the Carol fight in LnW, I'm not sure some can be educated. Good on you for trying though, I'm sure a few will catch on....but will that solve the one guy who doesn't who just feeds all the air tanks in at once?

Tell me about it! I was running it yesterday as dps, everyone died except me - because some bombs were picked and my Guardian Angel mod kicked in. I was able to revive the tank and other people, then they ignored the bombs again and we wiped. I typed REALLY???? - like, come on, I though we got over the denial phase.

Mind you, some people think they can just burn Manta real fast, but that only makes the script run faster and we get wiped anyway. Players weren't that obnoxious before chapters, but dumbing down new instances has brewed players that think they're job is to stand still and hit things. They can't do cogs, they can't move. It's worse than ever.

Particularly, I've noticed that everyone now wants to be a healer, like, I accept to get in as a healer for an alert, then people who entered as dps or any will just run as healer too. What pisses me off is that I'm stronger than them, but literally any shield coming from another healer role will override mine (sorcery or white lantern, it doesn't matter which one), including that dang Clarion. I already run 2 shields as battle healer (mostly healer than battle), those things mess with my rotation big time, because I have no control over when players (myself included) will get vulnerable.

People in this game as used to think everything's optional - your role, if you do cogs, if you block, if you jump, if you move, if you should be running elite flashbacks with artifacts under rank 120. Now everything's down to player culture and etiquette, and self-awareness, which most people don't have - either because they're new or because they're elitists.

The groups I have gotten into have been okay for the most part. Most times its one or 2 fails on the bombs but its been early so it doesn't seem like we have been wasting a bunch of burn on the boss. I don't think I can recall failing on the 2nd "boss" yet, but it has normally been myself and a friend who jump into the tanks. We try to race each other so it gets done pretty quick. I still have a strong dislike for the raid as it's got too many group 1 shot mechanics for 2/3 of it and the last boss is barely above titanic trenton for difficulty.

I would rather run SS over the elite version of the royal war alert any day of the week. There are still far too many people who don't know how to match symbols above their heads to ones on the floor for some reason.

I always one of the people to go in the rooms, and I haven't had a problem with that yet. Thankfully.

I never said I don’t kick lol. That solves a lot of those type people. Trust me I’ve seen that happen many times.

It's not a bugged bomb. Some bombs can't be disarmed. That's why it says "break the chain reaction". Those bombs will always explode, and the amount of additional bombs left will make it so that each explosion is worse than the previous one.

For Elite:
1st fight…
-Surround the boss; tank in the middle.
-When Black Manta hops the next move is the Skull one shot so be ready to block. If you don’t trust your block button then put on Amazon Deflection.
-Let the DPS know not to damage if someone goes down.
-Everyone gets at least 1 bomb, always try to get 2.
-repeat 2 more times.

Wham bam thank you ma’am.

Again…I run this on every role and every movement mode

I don't recommend Amazon Deflection if you have something that triggers the combo bug, but it will finish it earlier.

SS elite can be challenging to reach the bombs.

SS reg and casual are, I'm pretty sure, the fastest raids in the game now. Like faster than US.

I'll see your SS Reg/Casual and raise you Doomsday minus cutscenes. FFR/Casual is probably similar too. I DID go into SSreg last night and there is still like a full minute of yacking before Manta comes out even though the cutscene is skipped....that's a bit obnoxious.

I wonder if they should put a tile function that will tell players what to do in these mechanics heavy fight, once they're no longer eog content. OR maybe put ambush bug in there and he'll them what to do and tips. SS has very unique mechanics that I like and still very consequential but man it's a raid I would avoid at all cost because we just have way too many players that don't know what to do.

I think you're missing the point. It's not that people don't know what to do. They actively ignore everything, including chat.

If there's a cog, DPS be like "that's not my job, I need burn the boss" (even when the boss isn't taking damage and they don't realize it).
If there's a skull/shield, DPS be like "I won't block nor move, the healer to do shield/heal me" (even if the healer can only spawn 4 shields in raids).
If the instance notification says they must go in as a role when they queued for both, they be like "I'm better as a DPS, so I should go in as DPS anyway"

Lately, I've been in instances where players queue as any/damage and play as healers when there's already a healer (usually me). All weaker than me, and they won't stop popping theirs shields over mine, messing with my rotation big time.

Players (especially new ones) think that everything in the game is a suggestion, not a rule. DPS think supporting roles are there to serve them. Some players would rather die 1000x and get picked 1000x than blocking Carol Ferris or running away from Zoom. And don't let me get started on people hitting Wonder Women when they're blocking.

I think the lack of group instance tutorials is what makes everything worse. People don't learn how to play their roles properly, they learn how to adhere to the game's culture at best and having the most ineffective loadouts at worst because the game assumes people know in what aspects they should invest in. And the game's culture sucks because it's shaped by players who are incredibly entitled and elitists (as in thinking you got to have everything maxed out and/or have certain artifacts and allies to run elite content and reject players who don't meet that criteria).

I feel like a part of this challenge stems from the content being designed during a different era. When I say that, what I mean is that players stood at range; now all the players are up in the bosses face doing melee and that can result in the bomb ring spawning some distance behind you making it slightly more difficult to reach if you're not prepared.

That said, the text warning comes up first, so you do have time to register that, look for the bomb ring and roll away towards it and you should be going for the closest bomb to your position, not trying to get across the room, it helps to stand in a position where you've predetermined what you plan to do and where you plan to go during that mechanic.

That said flight and acro are not really at a disadvantage, given the overall size of this room, if you're doing what I've explained above, reaching a bomb should be done with ease by simply rolling with tumbling master (if that isn't your foot mod, then it probably should be in elite content).
