Up-Votes Needed The One Who Waits dominating omnibus alert queues.

Mentioned it in general forums last year and again today. The One Who Waits alert is popping an inordinate amount of times. Personally...if I had to guess...its been about 98% of my omnibus alerts since it was added into the omnibus instances.

Omnibus was a huge development waste of time they could have just gave us a whole new revamp with the amount of effort they put into that Omnibus crap. what a shame such a failure attempt at bringing back old content. They just have the worst ideas the game needs PVP not this crap

Likely because it is broken in the sense that it does not require any Roles, regardless of Role Optional Alerts being On or Off. (I personally have it on and just either don't blind queue or (max once a week per Toon) don't accept an Omni queue that I can't worst case solo on the current Toon)

I do not get it particularly often myself, except if I queue it. I have noticed that it never seems to have any assigned Roles, as opposed to all (possibly except PZn, at least when people were complaining about that too) other Alerts. Even with Role Optional Alerts turned off, every other Alert will have at least 1 assigned dps, heal, tank or troll and the other 3 "any".

It does seem unlikely that 4 ungrouped people all queuing Omnibus gets put together in OWW instead of 3 getting in an Alert that a 4th has queued up, but I guess OWW seemingly bypassing assigning Roles and/or queue settings does make it faster and thus more likely to matchmake.

It's not just pure random chance that's doing this. I ran grouped with 4 people the other day and was queue fishing to get a particular run (not 1 run...just any run that had something someone knew they needed for a feat). Out of about 20 pops, only 1 was TOWW. If anything I'd say 'Saving Justice' came up way more than anything else (got it like 3 or 4 times of the 20). Ended up taking a BIA run in the end as one guy needed the random iconic.

So A) it's either not happening to everyone (sorry Ryll) or B) a lot of people are queuing it and Omni completes it or C) when it's 4 solo omni queuer's there's something about that run that pulls more hits...like the lack of need for roles maybe...but I thought that was only due to the person/group lead changing that setting.

The bug isn't that it's dominating the Omnibus queue. It dominates because it's not setup correctly to require roles so it queues more often because it continually dumps 4 dps in there. That is what needs to be fixed.

It used to happen to me a lot before I turned off Role Optional Alerts. I think it is due to the fact that someone's always leaving the instance because of constant wiping - apparently, 60% of the playerbase (I'm being generous) can't follow instructions -, so there's always a group looking for matchmaking. I'm not sure if I turned the alerts on again, but I haven't got any requests for TOWW in months.

If you have unabled "Allow Optional Roles Alert" in Settings > Gameplay, the game will only put you in instances that check the boxes for the roles said instances require. The One Who Waits is the only alert that doesn't require any roles, so you'll have more chances to end up with that instance.

It's not a bug, that's just a result of low player activity in pugging early endgame content + settings. If you enable the optional roles and/or queue as a different role, more instances will be available for you.
I've noticed that they added ARGUS Ops that counts for Omni:

I haven't been able to find any documentation on it, but it definitely seems to give me a different set of instances than what normally comes up with Omni. I haven't changed my queue settings: I still queue cross faction, only as dps, with role optional off, solo, for both Omni and ARGUS Ops.

I can confirm what you said, TOWW does ignore role selection for some reason. There have been plenty of times when I'm the only healer power, but I queued as dps with role optional off.

Argus Ops is a thinned out set of instances, and some notable removals are the FOS's and Batcaves...some that really seemed to hit a LOT in omni (Looking at you FOS2), I didn't look at alerts, but I think TOWW is out of there...so if someone really REALLY wants to avoid it, they can run Argus and skip that one. However, there are a LOT of the 'easy' runs removed too....so, you take the bad with the good. Gates is still in there, which probably explains why I've been in it like 5x in the last 2 weeks, and I'm NOT queuing Argus.

They can't. Argus Ops disappeared from the On Duty menu as suddenly and quietly as it appeared.

Really? I thought I saw them a few days ago...didn't look last night.

Welp...back to FOS2 and TOWW I suppose, or, I'll continue to queue with full groups so I can avoid those runs.

Maybe it's because sometimes it was temporally part of the St. Patrick's seasonal? Someone might have forgotten to turn some flag back on/off. lol

Probably because it wasn't supposed to go live. I bet they're replacing the Outsiders Ops event with ARGUS Ops, and that's the event that'll allow people to get old rewards.

When I turned off the option to get placed in instances in progress, I got it popping far less. Because I noticed that people are wiping on 2nd or last boss on simple mechanics, mechanics where it even tells you explicitly what to do. And after the wipes, some people were bailing.

I see 2+ years later and people are still commenting that it is happening. I gave up running omni bus not long after making this post.

Always great to see issues persist this long in game with not a peep from the development team. What a joke of display for support.

I disabled being put into already started instances and turned on role optional alerts and was able to get into something other than Doom this morning.

The alternative is to build a group (either full 4, or less but private). I can tell you if the group is full, this run will not come up as much as I run that scenario pretty much every week and TOWW does not come up nearly as much if I solo, open, queue.
